Protein balls are a great snack all round; they’re bite-size, filling and can be almost any flavour you desire! If you love cinnamon scrolls or donuts, these protein balls will be a treat. Plus, they are even quicker and easier to make.

What you’ll need to make Cinnamon Donut Protein Balls:

    1. Medium size mixing bowl.
    2. Measuring cup (I used metric cups).
    3. Measuring spoons.

    Ingredients:

Almond meal or almond flour: this is the main ingredient which is high in protein.

Brown sugar: to mimic the flavour of cinnamon donuts or cinnamon scrolls.

Ground cinnamon: easily found in most supermarkets.

Rice malt syrup: or any other liquid sweetener such as maple syrup.

Nut butter: I use almond butter but peanut butter will also be a good substitute.

Protein powder: you can use any protein powder you own to give these snack balls a boost. I would recommend plain or vanilla flavour to maintain the cinnamon donut flavours. Otherwise, you can substitute this for more almond meal/almond flour.

    Instructions:

These are very straightforward and simple protein balls to whip together. Simply add all your ingredients into a bowl, and mix with a spoon until well-combined.

Then, gather the mixture 1 tablespoon at a time and roll into a ball using the palms of your hands.

Place on a tray or plate and put them in the fridge or freezer to set. These can be stored either in the fridge or freezer also.

Storage tip for Cinnamon Donut Protein Balls:

After the balls have set in the fridge or freezer, I individually wrap with cling wrap (plastic wrap). Then, I store in the freezer or fridge. The balls will last for months in the freezer, or about two weeks if kept in the fridge.
